SAE 1050(1.1241) Spring Steel

SAE 1050 is a water- and oil-hardening grade of carbon steel recommended for applications where a shallow-hardening steel of moderate strength and toughness suffices. It is commonly used for parts where induction hardening is employed and may be used in the austempered condition. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment.
